Troubleshooting Google Groups

Difficulty Starting in Google Groups
If you have difficulty starting in GOOGLE GROUPS, try clearing your cache and deleting old files. Don't know how to do this   ?   If you are using Internet Explorer, in the menu on the top of your screen, go into TOOLS, INTERNET OPTIONS, DELETE FILES, CLEAR CACHE. If you are not using Internet Explorer .... er, um .... scream.
Everyone must have an account with Google
Don't forget that you will have to register with GOOGLE if you have not done so already. Being registered with Liobians will not give you access by itself. Yes, you will need to be registered with Liobians but you need to go to open an account with Google like everybody else. Go here to Open an Account with Google.
Too much Email ?
Avoid all that email but keep the ability to peruse the messages at your leisure, just using a browser, like Internet Explorer or Firefox.

Yes, you don't have to get emails that you don't really want, written by people you don't know on topics in which you may have little or no limited interest. Many of us just want to see what is going once a week or once a month or so. You can do this by changing your settings, so that you receive (a) digests of messages in 25 email lots, or (b) an abridged version of the messages once a day or (c) no emails at all (which is what I do).

The latter option means that you get no messages at all - you can just read the messages when and if you wish, at your leisure - without jamming up your intray, by accessing the Messages with your Internet browser.

To do this, click on Edit My Membership on the right hand side of the screen, and make your selection.

How to Upload a File (incl images, sound files, videos)
You can post a photo or share other types of files by uploading them directly. Here are the steps :
  1. From the Liobians homepage here, click on the navigation link (default: “Files”). This will take you to the File Upload page. Click on the “+ Upload file” button.
  2. Click on the “Browse…” button to search your computer for the file you’d like to upload. When you’ve found the desired file, click on it once and then click the “Open” button to select the file. Your file will now start to upload. Please note that the speed at which your file uploads depends on the size of the file and your internet connection speed.
  3. Once the file is finished uploading, you may choose to upload another file by clicking on the “Browse…” button to select another file. When you’re finished uploading, click on the “I’m done uploading files>>” link.
